  Cherry Spring State Park

One of the darkest sites east of the Mississippi

Cherry Springs State Park is an official dark sky park located in one of the darkest locations in the Northeast. The park is the home of the Black Forrest Star Party. This star party has become so popular that the registration had to be limited to 450. With that, the registration is filled two months before the party!
If you look at this light pollution map, you will see a dark spot in the North and center of Pennsylvania. This is Cherry Springs State Park.
